What people are saying about our repairs:

1) This customer brought in a Ceriatone amp that had been built. It had some problems.

"Rich, it's running awesome. All the switches are working great and the tonal changes with each one are all great and useable. Before, certain positions just didn't sound good whereas now I can see myself using each setting.

In general, the rewire really brought the body into the amp, and it really thumps now, and it makes the amps bite really palatable. Having total mid and bass control in each setting now is amazing.

As far a noise goes, yeah I mean there's still a bit of that, but it's only noticeable when it's just me in a room. Friday night after picking it up I brought it to jam with my band and in the band setting the noise is non-existant.

Also as soon as I plugged it in the drummer commented on how good it sounded - his head shot up while setting up and said "woah that sounds awesome!". He doesn't even have an ear for this type of thing so if it's jumping out to him that it sounds great it really must be good (Y).
Now the work can begin to really dial this thing in .

So in the end I'm really satisfied with the work you've done, thanks a lot Rich.

Cheers! Adam"

2) This customer had a Mark Bass amp he bought that was broken already. We replaced the board and addressed several preamp issues.

"Hey Rich, Just wanted to let you know the amp was flawless all weekend. Did 3 shows and not a single issue. Thanks again for your great work! Nathan"
3) This customer owns a VOX AC30 and a VOX AC15, that he uses in a U2 tribute.

"Rich.  The AC15 Bass control is fixed.  Sounds excellent now.

The AC30;  not sure what you did but massive output increase. More than it has ever had.   I am going to have to re learn my amp settings it is so powerful

Back to shaking things off the shelves.  Dave"

4) This customer bought a 1964 Twin Reverb that had been put into a different cabinet. This was an interesting amp to get going.
"Hey Rich. Good to hear from you. The amp is great and is running flawlessly!!!
I've played it everyday since it's return, It is a pretty inspiring amp to play on

Thanks again for restoring it!! Kyle."
5) This customer brought in a nice 1956 Fender Vibrolux for an overhaul. It, infortunately, had the speaker replaced many yeasrs ago, and the customer installed a new Jensen. This speakers actually suited the amp perfectly. This is a great sounding amp.

"Well done Rich. You've brought this amplifier back to life and it's never sounded better. The vibrato is deep and rich and the amp "sound" just sparkles. Up til now it was just a ho-hum amp but now it reaches out and blows you over. I remember when my Buddies Dad bought this amp brand new but was too young to appreciate what this amp could do. When it finally came into my possession the the amp was tired and worn out. Now it's an amazing amplifier. Thanks for a great job and the price was half of what I expected. Bonus."

6), This customer has a reissue '65 Deluxe Reverb, that he bought used from L&M.

 Hello Rich,
I just received a Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue amp that was repaired by you through Long and Mcquade in Burlington. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for taking the time to properly diagnose my concern. Thank you for your thoroughness in all the repairs you performed, and thank you for getting it back so quickly (I bought the amp, and had the amp for 2 days before I had to return it to the store for repair).

I have a fairly healthy collection of amps/gear that I use and I will be requesting you to do any amp repairs I may require in the future.

Great job!

7) This customer is a prominent player, and has several older Fender amps.

Hey Rich
Great job on the Superchamp!

I have owned this amp since the mid 80's and I am very familiar with what it should sound like. For the last few years I have had trouble finding a tech who gets this amp. It sounds better than it ever has!

I know there are others in KW area who have trouble getting their Superchamp to sound right because I have seen these amps in other shops. This is where they need to take it!

Fabulous job Rich and thanks again.

Paul

8) This customer owns an early 1980s Fender Twin Reverb, the last of them before CBS sold the company.

Hey Rich,
I just want to say, how happy I am with the repair. The amp sounds amazing. no hum. Cleaned and you even fixed my AC power cable end without me asking. THANKS!!
I will definitely recommend you. Thanks again!

9) This customer owns a mid '80's Marshall combo, the one with reverb. These can sound great when set up properly.

Rich; You did it again. My Marshall amp sounds the way I always knew it could. Better than the day I bought it. Thanks so much for all the hard work. You know I will always recommend you.
I'm getting ready to record a new cd.........so you will be part of the sweet guitar sound.
Thanks Rich
Andy

10) This customer has a nice small Supro amp, great for recording. I did a complete service on it and replaced the buzzing speaker.

Hi Rich,
Just a quick line to tell you how pleased I am with the repairs you did to my old Supro. The bill was less than I expected, especially given that the speaker needed to be replaced. Your suggested replacement speaker, BTW, sounds excellent in there and has given me a whole new appreciation for the amp. My friend Paul really put it through its paces and was VERY impressed with how it sounded.

I will certainly recommend you to anybody in need of amp repairs by an honest and skilled technician.
"Rich Gowman did a superb job on the 2 units I brought him. He is very professional on his approach and the units sound like new. Keep recommending him to your clients. He is really the amps' man. Eric"

This was sent to one of my retail stores I do business with.
"Rich, got to run the Hot Rod Deville through its paces last night at our weekly jam night. Wow! It has never sounded this good. The clean channel responds with clarity, without the harshness. The drive channel is definitely less aggressive. When you kick it up it is not searing but fuller and keeps the tone. I like it, and I got positive feed back from the guys. Great job, thanks.  Doug"

This customer had a problematic Hot Rod Deville.

"Hey Rich, I absolutely love the Boogie!! I need to find some time and get it back to you to do the footswitch I think. I also have another little combo with a reverb pan issue. Sean"

Sean has a classic Mesa Boogie Mark 2 C amp. A great sounding amp.
